The New Secretary General of the World Council of Churches (WCC), Rev. Dr. Jerry Pillay, University Professor, is currently undertaking an official five-day visit to the headquarters of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, accompanied by colleges of the Organisation. It is his first official trip to a WCC member Church since assuming his duties on January 1 of this year.
Rev. Dr. Jerry Pillay, was warmly received on Friday, 10 March 2023, by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. This official reception was preceded by the collaboration of the Synodal Committee on Inter-Christian and Inter-religious Dialogues, under its President, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, with the Delegation of the World Council of Churches.
