Summary:
Uprooted from Cappadocia, the refugees celebrate the Assumption of the Virgin Mary far from their village, with a Mass in the countryside.
On September 14, 1924, they arrive in Piraeus, and while they wait to find “mother Greece” who will embrace them, they encounter cruelty, difficulties, and problems.
Little Arsenios’ father is the president of the community and, with the guidance of elder Arsenios, tries to make the right decisions and solve problems.
Elder Arsenios tells them that he will “sleep” forty days after they arrive on the island they are sent to. The next day, they are sent to Corfu and temporarily stay in the city’s castle.

About the series:
Historical – biographical TV Series follows the course of Saint Paisios the Athonite (1924-1994), from his birth until the moment he decided to become a monk. Part One of the Series presents the family life of Saint Paisios and records his path to Orthodox monasticism. The filming took place in several areas where Saint Paisios lived, such as the cities of Corfu, Konitsa, and Mount Athos.
