Archbishop Makarios of Australia meets with the President of the Hellenic Republic
The President of the Hellenic Republic Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou received His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia at the Presidential Mansion on Wednesday, 4 September 2024. Archbishop Makarios briefed President Sakellaropoulou on the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese’s activities as it celebrates its 100th anniversary since its establishment.
The President of the Hellenic Republic Ms. Sakellaropoulou highlighted the significant role of the Greek Orthodox community in Australia, noting that its contributions under the Archdiocese’s spiritual and religious leadership are recognised at both state and federal levels.
