His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America Visits the Holy Metropolis of Chicago
Nov. 8, 2024, during his visit to Chicago for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church in Palatine, IL., His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America visited the headquarters of the Holy Metropolis of Chicago located in Lombard, IL. The Archbishop was welcomed by His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago; His Grace Bishop Timothy of Hexamilion, Chancellor of the Metropolis; and Metropolis staff. The Archbishop will preside at Vespers this evening, followed by Orthros and the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy tomorrow morning. Festivities on Saturday will continue with the 50th Anniversary Celebration Gala on Saturday evening to be held at the Renaissance Hall. On Sunday His Eminence’s visit to Chicago will conclude with the celebration of Orthros and the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, over which His Eminence will preside, at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, in Des Plaines, IL.
