Two-day Patriarchal Visit to the Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalcedon
The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will pay an official visit to the Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalcedon, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, on November 22 and 23, 2024.
The program of the Patriarchal visit is as follows:
Friday 22 November 2024
5:30 pm – Official reception of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos, Nea Philadelphia, which will be followed by the official Doxology Service.
7:30 pm – Naming Ceremony of the Patriarch Square of Nea Philadelphia

12:00 midday – Opening Ceremony of the new Kindergarten “IONIKI AGOGI (Ionian Education) – NEA PHILADELPHIA CHILDREN’S CENTRE” (Kambouroglou 1 & N. Plastira)
