The Funeral Service of the Director of the School of Saint Demetrios Samir Zananiri
On the afternoon of Thursday, November 1 / 14, 2024, the Funeral Service of the Director of the School of Saint Demetrios, the blessed Samir Zananiri took place in the Cathedral of Saint James the Brother of God.
H.H.B. our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, officiated the service, with the co-prayer of His Eminence, Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, the Elder Kamarasis Archimandrite Nektarios, the ministering Priests of the Church Haralambos Bandur and Georgios Baramki, with the attendance of the teachers and students of the School and his relatives and many members of Saint James’ parish and the honorary presence of the Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem Mr Dimitrios Angelosopoulos.
In his Obituary, delivered by Fr. Essa Mousleh, His Beatitude praised the precious scientific and educational work of the deceased for the education of many students of the School of Saint Demetrios over many years, (see video).
The blessed one was buried in the Orthodox Cemetery on the hill of the Holy Sion. May his memory be eternal.
