Naxos: Prayer for the cessation of seismic tremors in the Cyclades

On Monday, 10 February 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Kallinikos of Paronaxia, visited the celebrating Parish Church of Saint Haralambos of Aggidia, Naxos.

His Eminence officiated at the Matins service, blessed the Artoklasia (blessing of the five loaves) and presided over the Divine Liturgy, joined in concelebration by the Preacher of the Holy Metropolis, Archimandrite Fr. Arsenios Mellisianos, who also preached the Holy Sermon, the Protopresbyters Fr. Emmanuel Gryllakis, Fr. Nikolaos Rotas, Fr. Dimitrios Ferentinos, the Oeconomoi Fr. Timoleon Athanasopoulos, Fr. Ioannis Lastiotakis, Fr. Stylianos Tsougas, and Fr. Vasilios Doukas, parish priest, and the Deacons Fr. Panagiotis Siachamis, and Fr. David Karytinos.

Prior to the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, a special prayer was held for the cessation of the seismic tremors that have been plaguing the wider Cyclades region in recent days.

Finally, His Eminence offered his wishes to the congregation, referring, among other things, to the great love of the faithful for the venerable figure of Saint Haralambos, because he is their powerful protector from infectious diseases.

Subsequently, the Procession of the Holy Icon and the portion of the Relic of Saint Haralambos took place, around the Church of Saint Haralambos.
