Funeral of reposed in the Lord Metropolitan of Limnos & Aghios Efstratios held on Wed.

The body of deceased Metropolitan Ierotheos lay in repose on Wednesday at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the northeast Aegean island of Limnos. A Divine Liturgy was held in the morning, with a funeral service and interment held later in the afternoon.

Hundreds of mourners gathered at the island’s Metropolitan Cathedral to pay their last respects to their beloved pastor.

Several Metropolitans co-presided at the funeral service, while the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople was represented by the Bishop of Amorion and Abbot of the Monastery of Vlatadon, His Grace Nikiforos.

The Greek state was represented by Parliament vice-president Charalambos Athanasiou and Aegean & Island Policy Ministry General Secretary Christiana Kalogirou.
