Russian Orthodox Metropolitan of Astana & All Kazakhstan in Greece at head of group of pilgrims

The Metropolitan of Astana and Almaty and first hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan, His Eminence Alexandros, arrived in the east Mediterranean country for a visit, at the head of a group of pilgrims.

The Metropolitan and the pilgrims were welcomed at the Athens International Airport on Saturday by the Kazakh Ambassador to Greece, Alexei Volkov.

His Eminence Alexandros on Sunday co-officiated at Church services at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Savior, in the northeast Greek city of Alexandroupolis, on the occasion of the beginning of the Indiction.
