The new ecclesiastical year was also commemorated by the Orthodox faithful in Uganda, where the Church has recorded significant missionary and charitable work over the decades.

The Elder Metropolitan of Kampala and All Uganda, His Eminence Jonah, presided at a celebratory Divine Liturgy on Sunday at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas.
