On Monday, September 2, 2019, the Archbishop of America His Eminence Elpidophoros conveyed his condolences to the families of victims of Hurricane Dorian, which ravaged the Bahamas. He also expressed his sadness over the destruction left in the hurricane’s wake.
A tweet posted on the Archbishop’s official Twitter account read:
Today many are in harm’s way from Hurricane #Dorian. Let us pray that their lives and their way of life will be spared. May all be sheltered in the shelter of His wings of grace, even as we prepare to offer our tangible help in the aftermath. Most Holy Theotokos, save us!

At least five victims have been reported so far with the death toll possibly set to rise.
