Orthodox youth gather in Cahul to discuss family life and healthy relationships
More than 235 teenagers from the Republic of Moldova and Romania came together between 28–31 August in Cahul for the Orthodox Youth Meeting, where they were taught about family life and the importance of healthy relationships.
According to eu4moldova.eu, the aim of the gathering was to encourage participation in spiritual, cultural-artistic, and educational activities.
From the second day, several priests from the Metropolis of Bessarabia led workshops on family life, healthy relationships, and the role of faith in building strong marriages.
Family, God’s Gift
The discussions addressed essential themes such as the family as a gift in God’s plan, the values that sustain a balanced family, and the importance of equality and respect within relationships.
Particular emphasis was also placed on the role of the Church in counselling young people and in preventing domestic and community violence.
The event took place as part of the programme “Together Against Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence” – second stage, funded by the European Union and jointly implemented by UN Women Moldova and UNFPA.
Responsibility for the content and organisation of the agenda lay with the help of the Diaconia Social Mission.
