Ordination of a new priest for the coastal city of Ashdod
By the decision of the Holy and Sacred Synod, convened on the 19th of September / 1st of October of the current year, during a night Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Horrendous Golgotha on the 26th of September / 9th of October, the ordination to the diaconate of Mr Alexander Bukhantsev, a Russian-speaking faithful from Kyrgyzstan and a permanent resident of the coastal city of Ashdod, took place.
On the following day, during a night Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Holy and Life-giving Tomb, he was ordained to the priesthood. Both ordinations were held by the Elder Sacristan, His Eminence Archbishop Isidoros of Hierapolis.
The newly ordained priest will serve the liturgical needs of the flock in Ashdod, Ashkelon, and Beersheba.
