Exact replica of miraculous Panagia Vimatarissa icon to be conveyed to Cyprus early next month

An exact replica of the holy and miraculous icon of the Panagia Vimatarissa or Ktitorissa, which is displayed for veneration in the main Cathedral at the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi will be conveyed to the Orthodox Metropolis Tamasos And Orinis, on the eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus.
The Holy Icon will be conveyed to the Metropolis by the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, on Mt. Athos.

The Holy Icon and the Vatopedi delegation will be greeted and received on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 2, at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, in the Episkopeio district of Nicosia.

The Elder Archimandrite Ephaim will then address the faithful on the nature of the Most-Holy Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary.

A vigil will follow, beginning in the early evening.
