Athens’ patron saint, St. Dionysius, venerated today
The Church today venerates the memory of St. Dionysius, the patron saint of the city of Athens, judges and the judiciary. St. Dionysius was one of the most significant figures of the early Christian era, serving as a bishop of Athens.
A celebratory Vespers service was held on Tuesday at the St. Dionysius Cathedral in Athens’ Kolonaki district.
