Arcadia: The feast of the Monastery of Saint Nicholas Varsas
With particular splendour, the Translation of the Holy Relics of Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, was celebrated at the Monastery of Saint Nicholas Varsas in Arcadia.
The Matins and the festal Divine Liturgy were celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Epiphanios of Mantineia and Kynouria, assisted by the Protosyncellus of the Metropolis, Archimandrite Stephanos Kappes, the Abbot of the Monastery, Fr Melchisedek, the fathers of the Monastery, and clergy of the Metropolis.
During the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence ordained to the priesthood Hierodeacon Fr Neilos, a brother of the Monastery of Saint Nicholas Karyas, Kynouria.
A large number of faithful arrived at the celebrating monastery to participate in the Divine Liturgy and to offer their congratulations to the new presbyter of the local Church.
On the eve of the feast, His Grace Bishop Theoklitos of Tegea, presided at the Vespers at the Monastery of Varsas, his monastery of repentance, while the sermon was delivered by the Protosyncellus Fr Stephanos Kappes. On the morning of the feast, he celebrated at the parish church of the village of Kapsia.
