Ecumenical Patriarch speaks by telephone with the President of Ukraine
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, spoke by telephone on the afternoon of Monday, 15 June 2026, with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, condemning the Russian missile attack against the historic Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Pecherska).
His All-Holiness described the attack as an act of barbarity and desecration, and asked the President to convey his solidarity and support to the Ukrainian people, who continue to suffer the hardships of war.
