Paros Honours Saint Arsenios
The Translation of the Holy Relics of our Venerable Father Arsenios was festively celebrated on Monday, 18 August, on the island of Paros.
At the celebrating Holy Monastery of Christ of the Forest–Saint Arsenios and the adjacent majestic Church of the Saint, Matins was celebrated with His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos III of Mani presiding. He subsequently presided over the Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by the local Shepherd, His Eminence Metropolitan Kallinikos of Paronaxia; His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Keramos; and numerous clergy from the Holy Metropolis of Paronaxia and other Holy Metropolises.
During the Communion Hymn, the presiding Hierarch delivered the homily, reflecting upon the sanctity of Saint Arsenios’ life, which was devoted entirely to the worship of God and the service of humanity, values that also serve as an example for us. He encouraged the faithful to invoke the grace of the Panagia and the intercessions of Saint Arsenios, the powerful protectors of the island of Paros, and to struggle spiritually by “imitating his virtues”, as is chanted in his beautiful Apolytikion.
Following the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Mani, with the canonical permission and encouragement of Metropolitan Kallinikos, tonsured as a Reader the young student Panagiotis Tziotis, son of the Parish Priest of Marpissa, Protopresbyter Fr Emmanouil Tziotis.
A procession then took place in the church courtyard with the holy icon, Precious Hand and Holy Skull of the Saint. During the procession, a memorial prayer was offered for the repose of Fr Konstantinos Theologitis, founder of the church.

At the conclusion of the procession, following the supplication offered at the entrance of the church, Metropolitan Kallinikos thanked the Hierarchs for their participation in the sacred feast, as well as all the clergy, chanters, local authorities, led by the Mayor of Paros, Mr Kostas Bizas, and the Christ-loving people of God.
His Eminence also congratulated all those who laboured in preparing and ensuring the exemplary conduct of the celebration, and prayed that the abundant blessing of Saint Arsenios would remain with them throughout their lives.
