Feast day of Eumenius the Wonderworker

The Church today venerates the memory of Eumenius the Wonderworker, Bishop of Gortynia.

This saint took up monastic life from his youth, and later became Bishop of Gortynia, on in Crete. He travelled to Rome and Thebes in Upper Egypt, where after working many miracles, he reposed in deep old age.
