Metropolitan of Polyanis and Kilkisias Emanuel reposes

The Metropolitan of Polyanis and Kilkisias Emanuel reposed in the Lord over the weekend.

The reposed hierarch had been hospitalized over the recent period at a Thessaloniki hospital, followed by treatment at a long-term recovery center. It was at the latter where he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.

An exodios funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Transformation of the Savior, in the city of Kilkis.

The Metropolitan of Goumenissa, Axiopolis and Polykastro, His Eminence Demetrios, has been appointed as the locum tenens of the Metropolis of Polyanis and Kilkisias, and will represent the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, at the funeral services and interment.
