A modern school building, which will serve as a Greek Orthodox primary school, has been completed in one of the most blighted corners of the world, and specifically in the slum of Kroo Bay, in the impoverished Sierra Leone capital of Freetown.

The school building was built with donations from Greece and other countries.

The Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, had placed the foundation stone at the site in November 2018.

Kroo Bay is a notoriously squalid slum that hosts some 27,000 people, one fourth of whom are children.
