Archbishop of Australia Makarios’ message on the occasion of Int’l Women’s Day

The Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, issued a statement on Monday, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, noting that “today we are called to ponder our duty to build a world without discrimination between the sexes, a world with absolute respect for our neighbor, whoever they may be.”

Furthermore, the Archbishop reminded that the holiest and most respected human person was the Panagia, the Virgin Mary, “…the woman who united earth with heaven… we cannot but simultaneously recognize both the important and the multi-dimensional role of all women, in family, in our society, in humanity as a whole.”
