Doxology service in Belgrade for bicentennial of Greek War of Independence
A Doxology service was held on Thursday at the chapel of St. Symeon the Myrrh-flowing in Belgrade on the occasion of the bicentennial of the beginning of the Greek War of Independence in 1821.
The service was held with the blessing of the Patriarch of Serbia, His Holiness Porfirije.
The ambassadors of Greece and Cyprus, Giorgos Diakofotakis and Demetrios Theofylactou, respectively, represented their respective governments.
Afterwards, His Holiness hosted a reception in honor of the two envoys and their associates, and in the presence of members of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
