Record number of single-day confirmed Covid-19 instances, ICU cases in Greece on Tues.
Tuesday witnessed a macabre milestone in Greece for the Covid-19 pandemic, with the highest number of single-day new instances detected, 4,340, and 741 cases being treated in hospital ICUs.
Amid the surge of a “second wave”, a blue-chip group of epidemiologists and public health experts were expected to recommend a gradual easing of lockdown restrictions.
According to reports, now closed retailers will be allowed to open, with precautions in place, while non-essential travel outside of one’s municipality will also be allowed, probably as of Saturday. Finally, schools will reopen once free self-tests are conveyed to pharmacies around the country, with the most probable date being April 12.
