Late Archbishop of Australia Stylianos laid to rest

The funeral and burial of the late Archbishop of Australia Stylianos was held on Saturday in Sydney.

A funeral service was held at the packed, with mourners and parishioners, Cathedral Church of the Annunciation (Evangelismos) of Our Lady in Sydney. The hierarchical Divine Liturgy and funeral procession was led by His Grace Bishop Seraphim of Apollonias.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison extended his condolences and Tweeted that “His (Stylianos’) distinguished service and leadership to the Greek Australian community will be greatly missed”.   

Condolences were also extended by Australia’s main opposition leader, Bill Shorten and state premiers Daniel Andrews and Gladys Berejiklian, among many others.
