Association of theologians on Crete expresses support for educators called to justify letting pupils attend Divine Liturgy

The association of theologians on the large island of Crete this week expressed support and solidarity with a group of teachers in the city of Irakleio, who, on the occasion of the feast day of the Three Hierarchs, the patrons of Greek learning and letters, allowed pupils to attend a Divine Liturgy service. The educators were latter summoned to give explanations to their immediate supervisory board.
In an announcement, the association underlined that it was completely improper to criticize educators and to summon them for explanations because they acted out of good faith in performing their mission, one based on knowledge and experience to the benefit of their pupils.
