Athens calls on Greek citizens to evacuate Ukraine

Greece’s foreign ministry on Monday called on Greek citizens to avoid trips to Ukraine and to immediately depart from the eastern Europe country. Additionally, official Athens called on Greek citizens still in the country to contact the Greek embassy in Kiev and to provide contact details and their whereabouts.
Finally, Athens announced that it was reducing staff at the Greek embassy in Kiev, but at the same time increasing personnel at its consulate in the Sea of Azov port city of Mariupol, which hosts a sizeable ethnic Greek community.
