‘Man of God’ screened in Stockholm; Archbishop of Sweden Kleopas in attendance
The award-winning film and box office success “Man of God”, which recounts the life, works and tribulations of St. Nektarios of Aegina, was shown at the 11th festival of New Balkan Films in Stockholm, Sweden over the weekend.
Among the many faithful in attendance was the Archbishop of Sweden and All Scandinavia, His Eminence Kleopas, who also spoke about the devotional and inspiring movie, and its director, Yelena Popovic.
The film, which set box office records in Greece and Cyprus late last summer, has been honored with the audience choice award at the 43rd Moscow International Film Festival and the Greek Film Festival of Los Angeles, as well as with the best international film award at the Siena Festival in Italy.
After movie theaters in Russia and Serbia, “Man of God” will open in various venues in France on March 10, followed by its debut in 46 American states on March 21.
The grand sponsors of the production are the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi and the St. Maximus the Greek Institute.
