Archbishop of Australia Makarios expresses deepest sorrow over devastation caused by heavy floods on island continent

The Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, this week expressed his deepest sorrow and pain, for the devastation caused by heavy floods that have swept through the east of the island continent, resulting in the deaths of at least 20 people in Queensland and New South Wales, and the displacement of thousands from their homes.

In a statement, His Eminence noted that “…it is necessary to maintain, in full, our hope and trust in the All-Good God…with a warm heart and unshakable faith that our heavenly Father will not abandon us.”
