The historic Holy Monastery of Aghia Lavra in southern Greece this year commemorated the feast day of Alexios, the Man of God, as the monastery in mountainous Achaia prefecture has the honor of preserving the saint’s Honored head.
Alexios is also the patron saint of the nearby town of Kalavryta.

The monastery opened its gates to pilgrims and the faithful this week after nearly two years of pandemic-related restrictions.
