Greek president of the republic visits Greek-speaking villages of Apulia
Greece’s president of the republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, over the weekend concluded a visit to the Greek-speaking villages of Apulia, in the Salento region of southern Italy
Sakellaropoulou attended festivities marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Union of Communities of Grecia Salentina, and following an invitation by the president of the Union.
The Greek president was accompanied by Culture and Sports Minister Lina Mendoni and received a warm welcome from the residents of Apulia, who greeted her with songs in the local Greek-language dialect and traditional dances.
