The Church of Cyprus’ Holy Metropolis of Constan-TI-a and Ammohostos on Wednesday announced that its request for the holding of the somber Epitaphios procession on Great and Holy Friday, at the church St. George of Exori-NO has been rejected by the United Nations. The church lies in the illegal Turkish occupied area of the city of Famagusta.
In a laconic but poignant announcement, the Holy Metropolis informed the faithful that it had made the request in a timely manner in order to receive approval, while publicizing the relevant document sent to the UN.
