Holy Tuesday today
Today our Orthodox Church observes Holy Tuesday. On Holy Tuesday we bring to mind the parable of the 10 virgins, which our Savior related as He was coming to His Passion.
This parable teaches us that the accomplishment of the great work of virginity should not make us careless in other matters, especially in charity, where-with the lamp of virginity is made radiant.
Today is also the feast day of Paphnoutios the Holy Martyr.
