Con-celebratory Divine Liturgy by Patriarch of Serbia Porfirije, Archbishop of Ohrid Stefan

The Patriarch of Serbia, His Holiness Porfirije, will officiate at the Divine Liturgy at the St. Sava Cathedral of Belgrade on Thursday, accompanied by the Archbishop of Ohrid, His Eminence Stefan.

The joint con-celebration comes on the heels of a recent decision by the Serbian Orthodox Church to resume eucharistic communion with the Church of Ohrid, or Archdiocese of Ohrid, and following a similar decision by the Sacred and Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

According to an announcement by the Serbian Patriarchate, with the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral in Belgrade, …“a canonical communion of the two sister Churches will be established, by decision of the Holy Synod of the Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church.”
