Appreciation expressed to Serbian Patriarch Porfirije over granting of Tomos of Autocephaly to Archbishopric of Ohrid

The Patriarch of Serbia, His Holiness Porfirije, spoke by phone on Wednesday with the president of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pentarovski, with the latter expressing his appreciation for a unanimous decision by the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Patriarchate extend the Tomos of Autocephaly to the Archbishopric of Ohrid.

The Republic of North Macedonia is a small land-locked country in the southern Balkans. It lies due north of the northern Greek province of Macedonia, which approximates to historical Macedonia of antiquity and occupies more than half of geographical Macedonia.
