Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew inaugurates int’l con’f entitled ‘Eco Well-being: Environment, Animals, Ethics’
The Ecumenical Patriarch Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Thursday arrived at the Halki School of Theology, in order to participate in an international conference entitled “Eco Well-being: Environment, Animals, Ethics”, which is hosted at the seminary’s premises.
His All Holiness addressed the conference on Friday.
In a similar development, on the occasion of World Environment Day on Sunday, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, and a delegation of hierarchs of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens will tour the wildfire-ravaged area of Rovies, in northern Evia island.
The Archbishop will officiate at a Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Demetrios, with volunteers later planting trees in the affected areas.
His Beatitude, accompanied by the resident Metropolitan, His Eminence Chrysostomos, will also visit the historic Monastery of St. David the Elder, where a special prayer will be recited for the protection of the environment.
