Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew receives visiting Archbishop of America Elpidophoros

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Tuesday received the visiting Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, at the Mother Church’s Fanar district see.
The Archbishop arrived in Constantinople to participate in the reverent celebrations of the Ecumenical Patriarch’s name day, which will be held one day earlier this year, on Friday.

In his first statements, His Eminence joyously underlined that “…Once again, we are at the beating heart of Orthodoxy, the Ecumenical Patriarchate, here where it all began, 100 years ago, for the Holy Archdiocese of America, the anchor of all Greeks in the United States throughout the generations.”
