Archbishop of America Elpidophoros invited to participate in Holy & Great Synod of Constantinople for upcoming year
The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, on Thursday announced his invitation, extended by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, to participate in the Holy and Great Synod of Constantinople for this upcoming year. The Archbishop’s tenure will begin in September.
His Eminence made the announcement to participants at the conclusion of the Archdiocese of America’s 46th Clergy-Laity Congress.
In a statement, Archbishop Elpidophoros said:
“I am deeply honored by His All Holiness’s decision. I am also fully aware that this invitation to participate in the Synod reflects the importance that the Ecumenical Patriarch places on the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.”
