The Church today venerates the memory of Euphemia the Great Martyr.

Today is also the feast day of newly canonized Sophrony the Athonite, Abbot of the Patriarchal and Stavropegic Monastery of St John the Baptist, in Essex Great Britain.

Elder Sophrony was canonized as a saint of the Eastern Orthodox Church in 2019 with a decision by the Sacred and Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

On the occasion of the feast day, the Pemptousia platform has posted several features and devotional segments on this new saint of the Church.
