Permanent Holy Synod of Church of Greece to convene on Mon.

Members of the permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece will convene on Monday, with the main topic on the agenda being the recent tabling, in Greece’s Parliament, of draft legislation that foresees the filling of several vacant spots for Orthodox clerics in the country.
The Holy Synod has expressed satisfaction with the draft bill.

According to reports, the issue of separating the current Holy Metropolis of Aetolia & Akarnania, in west-central Greece, into two ecclesiastical jurisdictions may also be broached.
