Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew speaks by phone with Ukrainian President Zelensky

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Thursday spoke by phone with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on the occasion of the Day of the Christianization of the Kyivan Rus, and the Day of Ukrainian Statehood.
During the conversation, President Zelensky expressed his thanks for the prayers for his country, and the best wishes for victory and peace, while also bemoaning what he called the “…terrible crimes of the aggressor, the destruction of almost 200 temples.”
