Hilander Monastery in support of Serbian students
The Holy Monastery of Hilandar of Mount Athos continues to support university students in Serbia.
The Abbot of the venerable monastery, the Elder Archimandrite Methodios, recently presented a scholarship to Biliana Tsekic, who starred in the role of young Dara in a production recounting the horrors of the Jacenovac concentration camp during WWII, where the Ustashi regime in a Nazi puppet state established in Croatia systematically killed Serbs, Jews and regime opponents.
The monastery has also extended support to mothers who lost their children during clashes with extremists in Kosovo, as well as elderly women displaced in Serbia.
