Cornerstone laid for Ionian Medical center in Nea Ionia district

The Metropolitan of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia, His Eminence Gabriel, on Wednesday afternoon laid the cornerstone for the construction of a new medical complex in the northwest Athens district.
Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, as well as Athens Regional Governor. Rena Dourou was also on hand for the ceremony.

The Athens regional authority has already donated five million euros to the construction of the new facility, called Ionian Center.

In total, the regional authority has contributed a very generous 117 million euros to the Church of Greece’s and other ecclesiastical entities’ charitable efforts.
