Patriarch of Alexandria receives crew-members of Hellenic Navy vessels taking part in joint exercise with Egyptian Navy

The Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Beatitude Theodoros II, on Sunday received a delegation of commanders, officers and sailors of Greek naval vessels participating in a joint military exercise with Egypt, called “Operation Medusa”, which is being held in the east Mediterranean.

In his welcoming address, His Beatitude referred to the significance of fruitful harmony and solidarity in relations between Greece, Egypt and Cyprus, while he also addressed the historical voyage of the Patriarchate of Alexandria through the centuries and the Church’s modern-day missionary, pastoral and humanitarian work on the African continent.
