Israeli President Isaac Herzog receives World Council of Churches acting Gen-Sec, Rev. Prof. Sauca

Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Wednesday received World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Ioan Sauca.
The historic meeting was the first between WCC leadership and an Israeli president.

Rev. Sauca reiterated the World Council of Churches’ policies regarding Israel and the Palestinians, and mentioned that the Council has been present with a program in the Holy Land, since 2002, towards ensuring human dignity and rights for all.

He added: “We are encouraged by our partnership with the International Jewish Committee on inter-religious consultations and with other Jewish, religious and NGOs, which share the same values and visions and look forward to work together for bringing peace and human rights for all”.
