Metropolitan of Halkida Chrysostomos on Mount Athos

The Metropolitan of Halkida, His Eminence Chrysostomos, continued his visit to the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi of Mount Athos over the weekend.

His Eminence officiated at the con-celebratory service on the occasion of the feast day of St. John Chrysostom, as commemorated with the Julian calendar.

The Metropolitan of Halkida, accompanied by the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the venerable Mount Athos monastery, and Vatopedi Elders, also paid a reverent pilgrimage to the nearby hermitage where St. Nicodemus the Hesychast oand St. Gregory Palamas lived and worshipped in asceticism, where a memorial service was held.
