ORTHODOX CHURCH IN ARGENTINA CONSECRATED (SERBIAN CHURCH)
Another Orthodox church was recently consecrated by the Serbian hierarch of Central and South America.
Last month, His Grace Bishop Kirilo of Buenos Aires and Central and South America consecrated the Church of the Annunciation in Guayaquil—the first Orthodox church to be consecrated in Ecuador.
And over the weekend, His Grace consecrated the Church of St. Paraskeva in Río Negro, Argentina.
During the consecration, relics of the holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac were placed into the altar, the Serbian diocese reports.
Bp. Kirilo also ordained Matías Falagan, who built the chapel inside his own house, to the diaconate during the Sunday Liturgy. The parish community consists mainly of Serbians, Russians, Ukrainians, and Romanians.
As the hierarch mentioned in his homily, the Church of St. Paraskeva is only the second Orthodox church in all of Argentine Patagonia.
After the Liturgy, everyone was invited to a festive lunch in Deacon Matías’ house.
