New Year’s Day at the Theological School of Halki
On Sunday, 1 January 2023, in the chapel of the Theological School of Halki, on the feast day of the circumcision of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and Saint Basil the Great, a festive Matins and Divine Liturgy took place, presided over by the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity, His Grace Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos.
Faithful from the island attended the service, along with groups of pilgrimsfrom Greece, to whom the Abbot of the monastery offered a short homily of spiritual words of edification and wishes for the new year.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the blessing and cutting of the Vasilopita by His Grace Bishop Kassianos took place in the Great Hall of the Theological School.
