New Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, presided over his first Divine Liturgy
On Thursday 16 May 2019, one week after his election as Archbishop of Australia by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, presided over his first Divine Liturgy as Archbishop of Australia at the Holy Monastery of Saint George Epanosifi in Heraklion of Crete.
The holy Abbot, Very Rev. Bartholomew, together with the brotherhood of the Holy Monastery in which His Eminence had also belonged, received His Eminence with much joy and warmth and congratulated him on his election as Archbishop, as well as for his four year anniversary since his consecration to the office of the holy episcopate which occurred at the Cathedral of Saint Minas in Heraklion of Crete.
