Patriarch of Serbia Porfirije to begin pastoral visit to US later this month

The Patriarch of Serbia, His Holiness Porfirije, is scheduled to conduct a pastoral visit to the United States later this month and into February.
His Holiness is scheduled to visit the parishes and Church-school congregation of St. Sava in New York, while also being briefed, in person, on the rebuilding process for the Cathedral of St. Sava in New York City, which was devastated by a fire during Easter in 2016.

During his stay in New York City, His Holiness will also hold several meetings related to the renewal of the liturgical life of Orthodox Serbs in greater metropolitan area.

In the second part of the US visit, the Serbian Patriarch will travel to the St. Sava Orthodox Theological Faculty in Libertyville, near Chicago, where he will hold several meetings with faculty, administrators and students of the only higher education institution of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North America.

A meeting between His Holiness with the hierarchs of the Serbian Church in North, Central and South America is also scheduled at the New Gracanica Monastery in Third Lake, Illinois.
